A fabulous, heavy piece. This would be perfect in a hall or as a lamp/side table - it's a beauty, structurally solid and heavy, with a single drawer and original brass handles. 
The odd mark to the top simply adds to its sense of time and place, these are detailed in the photographs so you can see them clearly. They do not detract at all from the overall loveliness of this, in any way..  We love it.
